Titusville Police posted on social media that they were searching a vacant lot behind a house on S. Deleon Avenue today in regards to Tisa Gantt, who disappeared in January 2007 after telling police she was raped near S. Deleon Ave. in Titusville.
Her purse was found in a ditch near W.C. Stafford Street in January 2010, over three years after her disappearance. The purse, which contained her belongings, had been there so long that weeds had grown through it. A search of the area turned up no other evidence.
Titusville Police Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson said that they recently received new information in regards to Lissa's possible location and started excavating behind a vacant lot earlier today
This isn't the first time investigators have moved dirt, looking for Tisa. In 2008, 2011 and then again in 2015, investigators dug in the same area. Titusville Police named Edwin Deon Morris a person of interest in 2015.
"There's more people in Titusville that know what's going on, but they don't step forward," Tisa's brother Raymond Gantt said in 2015.
