Keep Brevard Beautiful, Inc. seeks Resident input for Composting Program

Updated: May 18, 2021

Keep Brevard Beautiful has been working on rolling this out since they started a pilot that was part of their Lagoon Friendly Lawn program. After the pilot and feedback from the participants, it was best that KBB start their own compost project.

The composting program will start off servicing the lower third of the Brevard County, centering in West Melbourne, with a goal to eventually service to the whole county. City facilities, business and restaurants will be given large/multiple composting bins that will be emptied several times per week. Residents who wish to participate will be given composting buckets with compostable bags that can be disposed of at our drop off locations. At the composting facility, the organic mater collected will be mixed with the donated carbon matter to create organic fertilizer. Once the organic waste breaks down into compost it will be available for purchase by the public and give to participants twice a year, FREE!

KBB is excited to bring this program to Brevard County but they need some input first.
