Updated: Aug 9, 2021

At 1:22 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2021, Titusville Police responded to 911 call in reference to a homicide in the 4000 block of Coquina Ave.

According to Titusville Crime News, which posts public police scanner traffic, Rod Patrick Swim, called 911 to report himself shooting his wife multiple times in the chest.

Titusville Police arrived on scene and, while still connected with 911 dispatch, Swim was told by dispatch to come outside of the residence unarmed, where he was immediately taken into custody.

Swim made the post below shortly before the shooting.

According to the scanner traffic, officers entered the home, where the female was pronounced deceased.

Swim was booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond and charged with:

2nd Degree Murder, which is punishable with no less than Life in Prison

Swim told Police that he was in a verbal argument in a bedroom with his wife, Sarah, staying that she was unfaithful to him. The argument escalated, Swim said he then armed himself with a firearm and shot Sarah multiple times in the chest.

Swim also told Police that Sarah's two children were also in the bedroom.
